Dr. Ian Richter

Dr. Ian Richter is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine who is board-qualified in foot and ankle surgery. He grew up in a small town in western Massachusetts with two older brothers. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biochemistry/Cellular Molecular Biology at Connecticut College. He then attended Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery for his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine. He completed his foot and ankle surgical residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. He is a Connecticut Podiatric Medical Association member and the American College of Foot and Ankle surgeons. 

His clinical and surgical expertise ranges from diabetic foot care to complex forefoot, rear foot, and ankle reconstructions, including foot and ankle trauma, wound care, and pediatric care. His treatment goals are focused on the patient’s individual needs and quality of living. His drive as a podiatrist is to keep people active and moving without pain.

Outside of caring for patients, Ian enjoys golfing and being outside with his wife and dogs. He also grew up playing hockey and now enjoys watching hockey and cheering on the Bruins.
